HamiltonJet - Pioneer and Market Leader in Waterjets

HamiltonJet is a New Zealand company based in Christchurch. In 1954 HamiltonJet pioneered the first commercial waterjet.

Fast forward 70 years and HamiltonJet remains a market leader in waterjets and vessel controls. All R&D and manufacturing are done in-house in a modern facility with state-of-the-art machining facilities, including in-house foundries for casting both stainless steel and aluminum, and extensive testing and inspection procedures. With over 440 employees worldwide, a global network of three regional offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas, and 55 distributors, Hamilton-Jet is the largest manufacturer of waterjet propulsion systems.

Unique advantages – Beneficial for your business Focus on performance.
Each series in the finely graded portfolio can be combined with several impeller options. The flow can be designed before and after the impeller. This results in many possible variations.
Thanks to the many possible combinations, we are able to deliver a custom design at the price of a series product.
The customization allows for an ideal match between the engine and the water to absorb the full amount of engine power. This results in long engine life and low energy consumption, what is true for both: electrical energy or fuel.
A conservative performance estimate ensures that we meet customers’ specifications.

Waterjet Range

The current HamiltonJet waterjet range includes models with power ratings from
150kW to 5.500 kW for vessels typically up to 90 meters in length.

LTX-Serie

LTX series

LTX36: Low-speed efficient, lightweight, and lean. LTX is the first waterjet to rival the performance, energy efficiency and bollard pull of the very best propeller systems at low to medium speeds (0-30 knots).

Power: 310 kW

Control and Automation

HamiltonJet designs and manufactures hydraulic and electronic controls for all waterjet models. The electronic controls can be integrated with a variety of other vessel systems, including engine and gearbox controls, autopilots, voyage data recorders, and dynamic positioning systems to provide complete maneuvering controls. Hydraulic components are built into the waterjet and can be operated from the helm via manual cables, a hydraulic control system, or the AVX or AVXexpress electronic control systems.
The AVX platform is a modular system that can be cost-effectively scaled.

All-electric and hybrid drive technologies are ideal for waterjet applications.
With EHX, HamiltonJet provides electric motors, power electronics and control systems, as well as the expertise to ensure seamless integration with the waterjets, engines, gearboxes or clutches.
The control system manages the hybrid energy flow between motors, batteries and motors, charging and discharging the batteries as needed.
The EHX is scalable for your vessel project with engines, battery capacity and components selected specifically to meet your requirements.
